The MIRA Safety CM-8M features a wide, contoured panoramic visor which sets it apart from their other products. This design choice provides the wearer with a 92.5% field of view, only minimally hindering natural vision. Additionally, the geometry of the visor and mask allow for the use of weapon sights and other optical devices. For example, one will be able to utilize red dot sights, scopes, and even night vision and thermal optical devices while wearing this mask.
The contour and geometry of the CM-8M allows an end user to effectively shoulder a firearm and build a proper cheekweld. This is important as other types of masks either severely limit a user’s field of view or feature geometry which makes it hard to properly shoulder a firearm and develop a cheekweld.
The MIRA Safety CM-8M is compatible with a variety of accessories. The mask can make use of a Type M adapter (not included by MIRA Safety) and integrate with CamelBak water bladders. This allows an end user to access hydration while wearing the mask if necessary. The mask is also supported by the company’s gas mask microphone kit, allowing for integration of communications equipment. Additionally, the geometry and contour of the mask allow it to be used with various types of high-cut helmets.
Typically, those with poor vision had to sacrifice clear vision for protection when donning a gas mask. MIRA Safety keeps those who wear glasses in mind with their MIRAVISION Spectacle Kit. One is able to purchase this kit and provide the manufacturer with their prescription to get a custom lens insert for their gas mask. This kit is available for a number of the respirators that the company produces, including the CM-8M.
