The 38 Special and 357 Magnum cartridges have similar dimensions, with the 357 Magnum being slightly longer. Firearms chambered for 357 Magnum can generally accept both 357 Magnum and 38 Special cartridges, while firearms chambered for 38 Special can only accept 38 Special cartridges.
As for the CCI Aluminum 357 Magnum cartridges, they are specifically designed and manufactured to function reliably in firearms chambered for 357 Magnum. However, due to the similar dimensions of 38 Special and 357 Magnum cartridges, they can be safely used in firearms chambered for either caliber.
