Hey all, we here at True Shot Academy are going to talk about POF-USA today. The company has been involved in the manufacturing of firearms, firearm components, and other accessories for decades. POF-USA products have been employed by private citizens and professional end users alike over the years. We are going to delve into many of the POF product offerings while touching on their background and other aspects of the company. Without further ado, let’s cover POF-USA.
Who is POF-USA?
Patriot Ordinance Factory, commonly known as POF-USA or just POF is an American manufacturer of firearms, firearm components, and other accessories and items related to the firearms space. The company was founded over 20 years ago in 2002 by Frank Desomma, an aerospace engineer. To this day, the company is still owned and operated by the DeSomma family. POF is well-known for their wide range of commercially available piston driven AR type rifles. Additionally, the company is also known for their various updates to the AR-15 platform such as their E2 Dual-Extraction Technology.
Where are POF-USA Products Made?
POF manufacturers their firearms, components, and accessories at their Phoenix, Arizona facility. This is to say that any POF product you purchase is going to be made in America with domestic parts and labor. By producing these items in-house, POF is able to keep a watchful eye on the quality of their products. Additionally, R&D for these products is also done in house, meaning that there is no disconnect between the manufacturing and design process. Put plainly, when you buy POF products, you are buying American made goods and supporting American jobs.

POF-USA Firearm Offerings
Currently, POF offers a wide variety of complete firearms. These firearms span rifles, pistols, and short barreled rifles. The firearm offerings from POF encompass popular centerfire and rimfire calibers such as 9mm, 5.56, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308, .300 Blackout, and .22 LR. An overwhelming majority of the firearms offered by the company are going to be semi-automatic in nature with their unique Tombstone rifle representing their lever action offering. The company has well-established product lines such as their P415 Edge, Rogue, and Revolution firearms. Additionally, in recent years the company has released multiple products named after cities in Arizona. Notable examples include the Prescott, Phoenix, and Tombstone.
Notable POF Firearm/Component Designs
Throughout their existence, POF has introduced a number of notable firearm and component designs which benefit shooters. One of the most prominent firearm features introduced by POF is their E2 Dual-Extraction Technology implemented in many of their rifles. This system promotes consistent and reliable extraction even when excessive fouling is present. The E2 system utilizes four channels cut into chamber walls to utilize gas pressures to break the seal between a spent casing and the chamber. This ultimately makes work easier for the extractor as it is assisted by these small channels. Other developments and designs include anti-tilt buffer tubes, integrated bolt carrier keys, and oversized head sink barrel nuts to name a few.
POF Firearm Components
Beyond their complete firearm offerings, POF also offers a number of firearm components for sale. Many of these components can be had in the form of individual gun parts while others are more substantial and represent complete receiver groups. Individual part offerings include anti-tilt buffer tubes, muzzle devices, barrels, adjustable gas blocks, handstop kits, and roller cam pins. Currently, the company offers complete upper receiver groups which are compatible with milspec AR-15 designs and their own big bore designs. These upper receivers are available in various barrel lengths, calibers, and colorways, allowing end users to select a POF upper which best suits their needs. Additionally, the company also offers milspec style and P415 upper receivers if one wished to build up a POF upper themselves. POF also offers a variety of the major components and small parts needed to build and maintain an AR-15. These parts include proprietary components for POF systems in addition to standard AR spec parts.

POF Triggers
While triggers fall under the components and parts produced by POF, they certainly deserve their own section. Currently, POF offers a number of drop-in trigger units for AR style rifles. This is to say that these trigger units can easily be installed into compatible firearms without the need for assembly or in-depth gunsmith work. Drop-in triggers from POF can be had in either single stage or two stage form, allowing the company to appeal to shooters of all types. Additionally, these triggers can be had with different trigger profiles Notably, every POF trigger will come from the factory with a set of KNS anti walk pins, allowing for rugged installation which minimizes the chance of failure.

All in all, POF-USA represents a high-tier manufacturer of American firearms, components, and accessories. Each product is backed by the company’s tight quality control practices and considerable R&D work.
