Table of Contents
Hey all, we here at True Shot Academy wanted to shine the spotlight on a new product that we started carrying. We recently started carrying the
EOTech EFLX, and want to provide an informative blog post about our new offering. Our goal here today is to provide you with an overview of this new mini red dot offering while delving into some of its features, traits and more. Without further ado, let’s examine
EOTech’s EFLX Mini Red Dot Sight.
Who is EOTech?
EOTech is an
optical sight manufacturer based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The company was founded in 1995 and began applying holographic technology to small arms weapon sights. A year later, in 1996,
EOTech partnered with Bushnell and debuted the first holographic weapons sight at SHOT Show. After the introduction of this initial sight, the company eventually introduced models for use by military and law enforcement entities.
The EOTech EFLX Mini Red Dot Sight
This reflex sight offering from EOTech represents the company’s first foray into red dot sights of this type. The
EFLX represents a departure from the typical holographic style sights that they manufacture. This small red dot sight is primarily designed for use as a slide mounted
optic on handguns. In addition to being used on handguns, the
EFLX can also be utilized as either a primary
optic on a long gun or PCC. Of course, one could also utilize this
optic as an offset or piggyback mounted red dot sight to support a scope.
This mini red dot offering features a large, clear window which facilitates fast target acquisition and a clear sight picture. This large window makes this sight well-suited for use on a variety of platforms from handguns to PCCs. The
optic features an aluminum housing and clearly marked adjustment dials for windage and elevation.
EOTech offers their
EFLX sight in both 3MOA and 6MOA variants to cater to the preferences of shooters. We here at True Shot carry
the 3MOA version which boasts a crisp aiming dot which does not obstruct a target at most ranges. We do not currently stock the 6MOA variant of this optic.

Where is the EOTech EFLX Mini Red Dot Sight Made?
EOTech primarily manufactures their
optics in either the United States or Japan. The company’s iconic holographic sights are produced and assembled in the United States. The Vudu line of scopes offered by the company are manufactured in Japan. The
EFLX Mini Red Dot Sight is described as “assembled with pride in USA.”
What Mounting Footprint Does the EOTech EFLX Use?
The
EOTECH EFLX utilizes the common mounting footprint established by the Leupold Delta Point Pro. This is good for prospective customers as many handguns come ready to accept this
optic from the factory. Many
optics ready handguns utilize mounting plates or feature milled mounting holes for specific
optic footprints. Additionally, one will be able to make use of the many mounting solutions on the market which accommodate this footprint for long gun use. Mounts for both primary and secondary
optic use which will work with the EFLX are common as the Delta Point Pro footprint is well established.
Expected Battery Life
The 3MOA dot version of the sight that we carry has a stated battery life of approximately 25,000 hours at brightness level 5. The sight utilizes a CR2032 battery, a common battery type with a long battery life. In the event that one needs to swap their battery, one can easily unscrew and remove the battery cap and load a fresh one from the top. Additionally, the sight has an optional auto shut-off feature which will shut the sight down after 12 hours of runtime.
Brightness Settings and Night Vision Compatibility
The
EOTech EFLX has a total of eight brightness settings which can be adjusted by the user. Seven of these brightness settings represent varying levels of daylight brightness. The remaining brightness setting represents a night vision setting, making this sight easily compatible with night vision devices. Brightness is easily adjusted by using the buttons on the left side of the optic.

EOTech EFLX Torque Specs
Torque specifications are very important when it comes to mounting optics and accessories.
EOTech recommends 17-19 in-lbs of torque per screw when mounting the
EFLX. By adhering to proper torque specifications, one will ensure that the optic stays in place when mounted on your firearm.
Conclusion
All in all,
EOTech’s EFLX Mini Red Dot Sight represents a versatile and affordable
optic. The EFLX’s various features such as its common mounting footprint, various brightness settings, and large window allow it to appeal to shooters of all types. Whether you are after an
