The EOTech EFLX
Hey all, we here at True Shot Academy are going to go over the
EOTech EFLX red dot sight today. This optic represents the first modern micro red dot sight offered by the company. Notably, the sight also departs from the established holographic sight technology that
EOTech is known for. We are going to delve into the various traits of the optic today and highlight many of its prominent features. Without further ado, let’s talk about the
EOTech EFLX sight.
Who is EOTech?
EOTech is an optical sight manufacturer based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The company was founded in 1995 and began applying holographic technology to small arms weapon sights. A year later, in 1996, EOTech partnered with Bushnell and debuted the first holographic weapons sight at SHOT Show. After the introduction of this initial sight, the company eventually introduced models for use by military and law enforcement entities. Today, EOTech continues to produce a wide range of holographic weapon sights in addition to LPVOs and a red dot offering.
What is the EOTech EFLX?
The
EFLX represents one of the most popular holographic weapon sights offered by
EOTech. As a micro red dot sight, the EFLX features a small form factor which makes it well-suited for use on various platforms. Notably, despite being a micro red dot sight, the optic features a generous window which provides a wide field of view. The optic features two distinct adjustment knobs for windage and elevation which are located on the top and right side of the optic. These knobs are slotted and will accommodate screwdrivers and similar tools and are complimented by adjustment instructions on the optic body. Speaking of the optic body, the EFLX features a rugged aluminum housing which is hardy and keeps the optic light.

Where is the EOTech EFLX Made?
EOTech states that their EFLX red dot sight is “assembled in USA.” The company elaborates further in the FAQ section on their site and states that the optic includes some foreign components. While the
EFLX does utilize foreign components, EOTech assures that the optic is “fully tested, qualified, and assembled in the United States.”
Mounting Footprint
The
EFLX utilizes the mounting footprint established by the Leupold Delta Point Pro. This allows users of the
EOTech EFLX red dot sight to utilize a wide variety of mounts and plates which support the common footprint. Since a popular footprint is utilized, one will be able to easily find an appropriate mounting plate for their optics ready handgun of their choice or mount it on a rifle, shotgun, or subgun easily. Additionally, it is easy for an end user to mount a EFLX on a long gun such as a rifle in either a primary or reserve optic. This is to say that an end user can easily utilize primary optic mounts and either piggyback-mounted or offset solutions which accommodate Delta Point Pro pattern optics.
EOTech EFLX Variants
There are currently four variants of the
EFLX red dot sight. Presently, the optic is offered with either a 3 MOA or 6 MOA reticle, providing shooters with different sized reticle options. Additionally, the
EFLX can be had in either black or FDE colorways. In short, shooters have the option of two different colors and two different reticle sizes. We here at True Shot Ammo currently offer the black 3 MOA variant of the
EOTech EFLX red dot sight.
Brightness Settings
The
EOTech EFLX comes equipped with a total of 9 brightness settings. 8 of these settings are intended for daytime use, allowing an end user to effectively tune their optic for various lighting conditions. The remaining brightness setting is intended for use with night vision optics. This is to say that this single setting operates at a brightness level which is safe for use with night vision goggles. In short, the various brightness settings the
EFLX offers make it viable for many use cases and end users. An end user can easily adjust the brightness of this optic via the "up" and "down" arrows on the left side of the housing.
Battery Life
The
EOTech EFLX is powered by a single CR2032 battery which is retained in a battery compartment on the top of the optic. This battery compartment features a slotted cap which is easily removed by a screwdriver or coin. Additionally, the use of a top loading battery makes it easy for an end user to swap the battery as needed.
EOTech states that the optic has a potential runtime of 25,000 hours if it is run at brightness level 5 on the 3 MOA version. This projected runtime becomes 20,000 approximate hours in the case of the 6 MOA variant. The smaller 3 MOA reticle simply draws less power than the larger 6 MOA reticle does. In short, the
EFLX is an energy-efficient red dot which utilizes a common battery.

There are many potential use cases for the
EOTech EFLX. One will be hard pressed to find a red dot which is not suitable for recreational shooting or plinking. Additionally, the sight is well-suited for training and practice. The 3 MOA reticle and large window make it easy for an end user to find and engage targets, allowing for fast and accurate fire. With training, one will become quite capable with a firearm equipped with a EOTech EFLX. Beyond range use, the
