Lead and Steel Promethean LP-1 Red Dot Optic
The Promethean LP-1 red dot sight offered by
Lead and Steel is capable of being mounted on a 1913 picatinny rail. The optic sits at a lower 1/3 cowitness height and features a quick release lever which allows it to be donned or doffed easily. As far as reticles go, the optic can switch between three different types. A reticle reminiscent of the “donut of death” popularized by EOTech holographic sights can be utilized on this optic.
This reticle features a 65 MOA CQB ring with a 2 MOA dot in the center. The optic can also be run with either the 65 MOA ring only or with the 2 MOA dot by itself. The ability to change reticles allows the optic to be versatile and tailored to different end users and use cases. The optic is also night vision compatible and read to be used by those like to shoot at night. All in all, the Promethean LP-1 optic is a versatile and capable rifle optic which is quickly building a positive reputation among shooters.

The Pandora PB-3 serves as
Lead and Steel’s micro red dot sight offering. Red dot sights of this type are incredibly versatile when it comes to mounting solutions and methods. While red dots of this style are primarily utilized on pistols, they are also often used on rifles or as backup/offset sights. The Pandora PB-3 features an enclosed emitted and boasts a 30,000 hour runtime on various daytime settings. These offerings utilize the same mounting footprint as the Aimpoint ACRO P-2. When compared to the ACRO P-2, the
Lead and Steel states that their Pandora PB-3 has a window which is 30% larger than its Aimpoint counterpart. Like the Promethean LP-1, the Pandora PB-3 is also night vision compatible and features three distinct night vision settings. At the end of the day, this micro red dot offering from

AuraWake Technology
Lead and Steel offers AuraWake technology in their LP-1 red dot sight. Rather than entirely shutting off the reticle after a period of inactivity, the reticle only partially shuts down. The 65 MOA ring of the reticle will turn off while the 2 MOA dot at the center remains on. This serves as a means to preserve battery life while also retaining a degree of readiness. This feature is present on the Promethean LP-1 red dot sights due to their intended use as duty optics.
Promethean LP-1 AuraWake Upgrade Program
The early Promethean LP-1 sights offered by the company did not feature AuraWake technology. This is simply due to the fact that this feature did not exist when these optics were introduced. For a fee of $50, the company will take these older units and replace them with newer units that have the AuraWake feature. One must simply provide the serial number of the legacy unit when purchasing the upgrade when checking out on
Lead and Steel’s site. The company will then provide the customer with a return label with instructions to send the old unit back to them. In about three to four weeks, a new unit with AuraWake capabilities will make its way to the customer. New Promethean LP-1 units do not require this upgrade service as they already feature AuraWake technology. This service essentially lets legacy unit users take advantage of the newer technologies developed by the company.

Lead and Steel also offers AR-15 firearms and components for sale. The components offered by the company come in the form of major parts like bolt carrier groups, grips, and barrels.
