Barnes Bullets has been building projectiles since 1932, when Fred Barnes began making bullets for hunters who wanted deeper penetration and better weight retention than the designs of the day could offer. That focus on terminal performance eventually produced the all-copper Triple-Shock X bullet, and today Barnes is recognized worldwide for monolithic bullet technology and the loaded VOR-TX ammunition line built around it.
Barnes VOR-TX 308 Win 130 Grain Tipped Triple-Shock X Boat Tail brings that technology to one of the most popular hunting cartridges in North America. The bullet is machined from 100 percent copper, so there is no jacket to separate from a lead core, and it routinely retains nearly all of its original weight while opening into four sharp petals for a wide wound channel and deep, straight-line penetration. A polymer tip raises the ballistic coefficient and initiates expansion reliably, while the boat tail improves stability in flight. At 130 grains, this load is fast and flat-shooting, making it a strong choice for deer, antelope and similar game where a lead-free bullet is preferred or required.
