CCI, based in Lewiston, Idaho, has produced rimfire ammunition since 1951 and remains one of the most trusted names in the category. The company's reputation rests on priming expertise, consistent manufacturing and a willingness to develop specialized loads for shooters whose needs fall outside the mainstream.
CCI 22 Long Rifle 40 Grain LHP Subsonic combines two useful features in one cartridge. The subsonic velocity keeps the bullet below the sound barrier, eliminating the sharp supersonic crack and making the round noticeably quieter, particularly through a suppressed rifle or pistol. The 40 grain lead hollow point bullet then adds terminal performance that plain round nose ammunition cannot match, expanding on impact for more decisive results on squirrels, rabbits and other small game and pests. That combination makes this load especially well suited to pest control near buildings and livestock, quiet small-game hunting and suppressed rimfire shooting. As with CCI's other rimfire offerings, consistent priming and careful powder charging deliver the reliable ignition and repeatable point of impact that serious rimfire shooters expect.
