CCI Pest Control 44 Special/Magnum 140 Grain #9 Shot turns a revolver into a short-range pest control tool. The cartridge holds a payload of fine #9 shot inside a blue plastic capsule that ruptures on leaving the muzzle, releasing a spreading pattern of pellets rather than a single projectile. That pattern is highly effective on snakes, rats and similar pests at close range, where a solid bullet would be both hard to place and dangerous to shoot at ground level. Because the shot loses velocity quickly, the risk of ricochet and travel beyond the target is dramatically reduced. Loadable in both .44 Special and .44 Magnum chambers, it is a practical addition to a trail gun, farm revolver or camp kit.
