HST In all my EDC. 147 seems to shoot the softest of all the HST choices.

If this won’t do it, it’s not the ammo, it’s your aim.
K
Very accurate. Federal is always a good choice. Only fired for accuracy but it's one of the two most accurate loads out of my SA35.
R
I have yet to use it but it was recommended by a local gun store and the prices or rather the difference in the prices made this a no brainer. Hopefully I will never need to find out just how good it is but I will be buying more soon.
R
This ammo never disappoints! Always consistent and as accurate as you are
D
Heavy grain yet slower muzzle velocity making it a great choice for smaller 9mm home defense guns
B
Fast shipping! Boxed well. Great prices. Can’t ask for anything more! My go to for any ammo! Crossing fingers on some 410 shells in the near future
N
It’s right ammo lol
S
Is this ammunition subsonic?
Thanks for reaching out!
Yes, Federal 9mm 147 Grain HST JHP is generally considered subsonic, with typical velocities around or below the speed of sound (depending on barrel length and conditions).
Let us know if you need anything else, we’re happy to help.
C
Is this 147-grain Federal HST load subsonic out of a standard handgun?
Yes, it is. With a muzzle velocity of approximately 1,000 FPS out of a standard 4-inch barrel, this heavy-for-caliber 147-grain HST round remains subsonic. This makes it an exceptionally quiet and effective self-defense choice when paired with a suppressed handgun or PCC.
C
What is the shelf life of this premium defensive ammo?
Stored in a cool, dry climate-controlled environment, this duty-grade ammunition will easily last for decades.
C
Why is the casing silver instead of gold?
This load utilizes nickel-plated brass cases, which enhance feeding reliability, aid extraction, and protect against corrosion.
C
How does the HST design compare to a standard hollow point?
The HST bullet features pre-cut skives in the jacket that guarantee uniform, petal-like expansion without clogging when passing through heavy barriers.
