About Total Metal Jacket (TMJ) Ammunition

These types of loadings feature projectiles which are entirely and completely enclosed within a metal jacket. TMJ loadings differ from FMJ loadings as they feature projectiles which are completely enclosed. In most cases, this jacketing is copper and is applied via electroplating. These loadings notably reduce the amount of lead one is exposed to during the firing process, specifically due to the elimination of an exposed lead projectile base. Also referred to as TMC, or Total Metal Case loadings by some manufacturers.

• 9mm:The 9mm Luger cartridge is easily the most common handgun round in common use. The caliber goes by many names, often being referred to as 9mm NATO, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19mm, or just generically “9mm”. The cartridge’s origins can be traced back to the early 20th century and is the brainchild of Georg Luger. Originally found in firearms such as the Borchardt C-93 and the P-08 Luger pistol, the round has become a common chambering for handguns in civilian and military use from the 20th century onward. While longer than typical handgun calibers, the 5.7x28mm is slim and has a relatively efficient form factor. This means that magazines for the caliber will often have a considerable ammunition capacity.
• 6.5 Creedoor:The 6.5 Creedmoor was introduced by Hornady in 2007 and serves as a modern expansion on the concept of a 6mm round. This relatively new cartridge has become increasingly popular in recent years, establishing a solid reputation in both the world of hunting and precision shooting. Like the .243 Win, the 6.5 Creedmoor is also well-known for its light recoil, accuracy, and flat trajectory. The cartridge has garnered attention from law enforcement and military agencies as rifles in the caliber have been tested and employed in marksman and sniper type roles.
• .22 WMR:The .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire, or .22 WMR, was introduced by Winchester in 1959. This rimfire cartridge is known for its higher velocity and greater energy compared to other .22 caliber rounds, making it popular for hunting small game and varmints, as well as for target shooting and plinking. The cartridge is also well-suited for use in a variety of firearms, especially those of the semi-automatic variety.
